Terms of use
Last updated: November 2, 2026
About these terms
These terms of use apply to everyone who visits or uses watzoujedoen. The website is run by watzoujedoen. By using the website, you agree to these terms.
Purpose of the website
Each week, watzoujedoen publishes a statement on which anyone can vote anonymously with agree or disagree. The aim is to encourage discussion and reflection on current topics. You can still vote on statements in the archive; we show those late votes separately.
Results
The results show how visitors to this website have voted. They are not representative or scientific research and do not say anything with certainty about what "the Netherlands" or any particular group thinks. Please do not use the results as such.
Fair voting
- You vote at most once per statement.
- You may not manipulate the results, for example by voting multiple times, using bots or scripts, or voting in any other automated way.
- You may not circumvent the security or bot protection of the website.
We may remove votes cast in breach of these rules or exclude them from the results.
Suggesting statements
You can suggest statements yourself. A suggestion must not:
- be unlawful;
- be hateful, discriminatory, threatening or offensive;
- infringe the rights of others, such as copyright or privacy;
- contain spam or advertising.
We decide for ourselves whether to use a suggestion. We may edit suggestions (for example shorten or rephrase them), reject them or delete them, without giving a reason.
By submitting a suggestion, you grant watzoujedoen a free, non-exclusive and unlimited permission (licence) to use, edit and publish the suggestion on the website and in communications about the website. If you provided your name, we will credit you as its author when it is published.
Statements are not opinions
The statements are meant as prompts for discussion. They do not reflect the opinion of watzoujedoen or watzoujedoen, even if we wrote them ourselves.
Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the website working and available, but we cannot guarantee this. The website may be temporarily unavailable, and we may change or discontinue parts of it.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage resulting from the use of the website, from it being unavailable, or from the content of statements and results.
Intellectual property
The design, texts, software and other parts of the website are owned by watzoujedoen or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use or as permitted by law, such as quoting with attribution.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. If you continue to use the website after a change, you agree to the new terms.
Governing law
These terms and the use of the website are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
